Day 3 – Assisi (optional). Famed for its close association with St. Francis, the famous Basilica, where St. Francis is buried, really is a must-see. B,D

B,D
Day 6 – Pisa and Lucca (included). To Pisa, where the famous Leaning Tower seems to defy gravity. Explore the so-called ‘Field of Miracles’ where time seems almost to have stood still since the 12th century, with all the cream stone edifices almost gleaming in the calm light. Next we visit Lucca, which, despite its imposing Renaissance walls, retains the layout founded by the former Roman colony in 180BC. B,D
Day 7 – Verona (included). This ‘classical’ city is home to a wealth of historic buildings, including Juliet’s romantic balcony and the mighty Roman Arena (now used for opera). Join our optional sightseeing tour to reveal the history of this magnificent city and take time to take a coffee in one of the many cafés in Piazza Bra, overlooking the Arena. B,D
Day 8 – Venice (optional); Lagoon Cruise (optional). The magnificent buildings, surrounded by bridges and canals, are a sign of the city’s former (and continued) wealth and prosperity. Join our optional Venice lagoon cruise, which gives you great views from the water and sails past the famous islands and the Lido, Venice’s seaside resort and home of the International Film Festival. B,D
