7-Day Break

Day 1 – Fly to Rome and transfer to our overnight hotel in the Rome area. 
Day 2 - Classical Rome’ with guided sightseeing (included). We explore the classical sights of the ‘Eternal city’. Our guided sightseeing tour by coach and on foot will introduce the city’s wonderful sights, including the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia and the Trevi Fountain. Later this afternoon, we continue to Sant’ Agnello di Sorrento for a four-night stay.  B,D
Day 3 - 5 –   Sorrento. Free time to relax in the resort of Sorrento with its smart shops and delightful harbour area, or to see more of the local area, join our fabulous excursion programme; see below for details

Isle of Capri (optional). Sail across the Bay of Naples to the Isle of Capri, where Gracie Fields once lived. In the company of a guide, we explore this picturesque island with its whitewashed houses, colourful gardens, cafés and intriguing alleyways.

Pompeii and Vesuvius (optional). Accompanied by a guide, discover the history and life of the great Roman city of Pompeii, buried in the eruption of 79AD. We also drive to the top of Mount Vesuvius, which commands spectacular views. You can walk the final 1,000 metres to the summit to view inside the crater. (A local charge of approximately €6.50 is at extra cost).

Amalfi Drive (optional). The ‘Amalfi Drive’ is said to be the most spectacular road in Europe. From Sorrento, the clifftop road offers stunning panoramic views at every bend. We make a stop at Amalfi, which gives its name to this whole beautiful coast. The hillside is dominated by the cathedral, which stands regally at the top of a great flight of steps leading up from the main square. From Amalfi we visit Ravello, which nestles in the hillside above the sea..   3xB,3xD

Day 6 – Leave Sorrento and travel to Rome for an overnight stay. ‘Holy Rome’ with guided sightseeing (included). We leave the Sorrento Peninsula and return to Rome. Our second visit to Rome, takes in the delights of St Peter’s Square and the Vatican, as we explore the Holy City, then on to the Rome area for overnight stay. B
Day 7 – Transfer to Rome and return flight to U.K. B

Accommodation

You’ll stay for four nights’ half board at the 3-star Hotel Londra, or similar in Sant’Agnello di Sorrento, approximately 400 metres to the lift for the beach and a 30-minute stroll to Piazza Tasso in the heart of Sorrento. A local bus to the centre stops in front of the hotel. Guests can use the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool, sun terrace, bar and lounge. All of the comfortable bedrooms have T.V. and telephone.

Please note: there is a supplement for air-conditioning and this needs to be paid locally.

The first and last night will be in a 3-star hotel in the Rome area.
