DAY 1: UK - Boston.
Fly to Boston where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a welcome drink with your tour director, and an overnight stay.
DAY 2: Boston - Ogunquit - Kennebunkport.
Boston has numerous impressive landmarks which reflect the role the city has played in the history of the United States. Your included sightseeing tour, will take you to many of the major sights, including Beacon Hill, the Old North Church, Boston Common, the Public Gardens and Faneuil Hall. Afterwards, travel to the picture perfect oceanfront village of Ogunquit, a haven for writers and artists. Arrive at Kennebunkport with time to explore the galleries of Dock Square. In the evening enjoy a lobster dinner. (B, D)
DAY 3: Kennebunkport - Portland - North Conway.
Today, travel along the scenic Maine coast to Portland for an orientation tour which includes sights such as the downtown district, the Old Port and the bustling waterfront area. We then head through Maine's attractive lake region to North Conway in New Hampshire, a beautiful town in the heart of the White Mountains. (B, D)
DAY 4: North Conway. Excursion to Wildcat Mountain.
Today, board the Wildcat Mountain Gondola for a thrilling trip to the 4,397 feet summit of Wildcat Mountain to experience some of the most breathtaking panoramic views and vistas stretching as far as Quebec. Also take part in the Raven Interpretive Programme and learn about the local New England wildlife and environment. The afternoon is free for you to explore this attractive town and maybe do some shopping in New England's premier shopping areas, such as the Settlers Green Outlet Village. (B)
DAY 5: North Conway - Stowe.
Today, leave North Conway to visit a maple syrup farm to learn how maple syrup is produced. After a brief stop in Montpelier, head to the von Trapp Family lodge which is still owned by the von Trapp family of 'The Sound of Music ' fame, where you'll have lunch. Travelling through gorgeous countryside you then arrive at Stowe, a quaint village with a dramatic setting, famed for its popularity as a ski resort. (B, L, D)
DAY 6: Stowe - Lake Placid.
Travelling through the heart of the Green Mountains you stop for an interesting guided tour of the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Next, visit Shelburne Heritage Park, a fascinating 45 acre outdoor museum depicting early New England life. Afterwards, travel past the picturesque shores of Lake Champlain and journey through the rugged foothills of the Adirondack Mountains to arrive in the village of Lake Placid, site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. DAY 7: Lake Placid - Pittsfield.
Enjoy a morning boat cruise on Lake Placid to take in the peaceful and stunning beauty of the area. Later take a tour of the John Brown Farm and learn about the famed underground railroad conductor who moved here in 1848 to establish a community of freed slaves. In the afternoon, travel through rolling scenery into the heart of the Berkshire Mountains to Pittsfield. (B)
DAY 8: Pittsfield. Excursion to Stockbridge.
This morning take a trip through the unspoiled villages of New England to Stockbridge. Here, visit the Norman Rockwell Studio & Museum, housing a large collection of works by one of America's favourite artists. Later, visit the Hancock Shaker Village, a restored 18th century village consisting of 20 buildings including its famed 1826 Round Stone Barn. Here learn about the Shakers way of everyday life through interactive demonstrations and by visiting the various dwellings. In the evening enjoy a farewell dinner at the Shaker Village. (B, D)
DAY 9: Pittsfield - New York City - UK.
Depart the Berkshire Mountains for New York City and your overnight flight to the UK. (B)
DAY 10: Home landing in the UK.
